Charlisa Watson
Charlisa R. Watson, MHSA – VECRA, Inc. Founder and CEO
Ms. Watson is an award-winning senior leader with more than 30 years of management and consulting healthcare experience analyzing, developing and implementing concierge level solutions for government and commercial customers.
As a former U.S. Army nurse, she has dedicated most of her entire career to serving disadvantaged vulnerable women and children and is a recognized leader in both the healthcare and nonprofit industries for energized vision and keen management skills. She has worked extensively in partnership with targeted private and public sector companies, employers, as well as with state and local government officials.
Ms. Watson is actively involved in creating healthier communities through several service organizations. She is founder of NiaImani CHOICES, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing healthcare resources to low-income women, children and families around the country.
Prior to leading VECRA, Inc. Ms. Watson was the Founder, President and CEO of CRW & Associates for more than seven years, a successful award winning CVE-verified, service disabled veteran-owned, woman-owned management consulting firm specializing in health management consulting, outreach and education, organizational development, information technology and technical assistance and training as a certified member of the SBA 8(a), DDOT MBE, MDOT MBE/DBE small business programs and Virginia SWaM certifications. Watson holds a master’s degree in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University.
Lisa Askew
Lisa Askew, MBA, LSSBB – VECRA, Inc. President
Ms. Askew is a consummate professional with over 30 years of experience in the human resources field. She has extensive experience in Leadership, Business Development, Human Capital Analyses, Strategic Planning, Staffing, Government contracting, Operations, RFP Analyses and Public Speaking. Her business development support initiatives have included the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and other Federal, State and local agencies.
Prior to joining VECRA, Inc., Ms. Askew flourished in the government contracting industry for 19 years. As a result of supporting proposals within the defense, commercial, energy, and even healthcare sectors, she has been directly involved in efforts realizing over $20B of awards. Previously, Ms. Askew implemented a number of strategic talent initiatives, including the HR New Business Model, which was instituted across the Lockheed Martin corporate enterprise to accelerate the involvement of human resources in the business development function. In her role as President, VECRA, she leverages both her leadership skills and expertise in human capital innovations to deliver superior onsite, remote, and electronic support. She is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, to include both the Distinguished Lockheed Martin Celebration of Excellence Award and the prestigious Hyatt Regency Bethesda Hotel Manager of the Year Award. She is Certified in Organizational Communications from Bowie State University, a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Rutgers University, and is a Recognized Kenexa Brassring Expert. Her top priorities are transparency, expansion of full-service accesses and concierge level service improvements. Her goal is to ensure all current and potential clients are educated on the latest offerings to ensure they have the confidence to succeed as well.
Ms. Askew currently serves as HR Committee Chair as a member of the Board of Directors for the Housing and Urban Development Federal Credit Union (HUDFCU) and as a member of the Board of Directors for NiaImani Choices, Inc. Her Volunteer experience include Upward Bound at North Carolina State University and having served as the PTA Vice President at the Thomas Pullen School of Performing Arts. Ms. Askew has an MBA in Global Technology Management from the American Intercontinental University and a BS in Business Management ׀ Law & Public Policy from the University of Maryland University College.
